Reporters' Roundtable: Feb. 4, 2010
As filing deadlines approach in statewide races, Ohio's Democrat and Republican parties change the lineup, while lawmakers and petitioners line up their issues for this year's ballots. Meanwhile, Cleveland's mayor points to an overhaul in city hall. And to some major problems in a local mortgage assistance program. Thursday morning at 9, join host Dan Moulthrop and a panel of journalists for analysis of those stories, plus NASA Glenn's new mission and payback from PNC.

Reporters' Roundtable: Dec. 1, 2009
Cleveland's port boss is out; the $400 million Med Mart project gets revised; and casino developer Dan Gilbert begins his new career with a trip to the statehouse. Also, consultants for the city of Cleveland give city hall a comprehensive cost-cutting plan--what's not clear is whether the city will maintain its ability to avoid layoffs.

Are We Really Recovering From the Recession?
We've heard the whispers about the recession ending over the past few months. Those voices got louder this week with reports that the U.S GDP grew 3.5 percent last quarter. Is the U.S economy recovering from the recession? Monday morning at 9, host Dan Moulthrop and guests will examine indicators like the price of oil, pace of exports, home sales, and consumer spending, and we'll find out why the national outlook seems so much brighter than what we see here in Northeastern Ohio.

Reporters' Roundtable: Sept. 3, 2009
Cases up for review in the state Supreme Court this week threaten to upset the precariously-balanced state budget. Casino backers hope to force a public vote on the plan for video slot machines at race tracks and grocers are challenging the Commercial Activity Tax. A loss for the state would erase a billion-plus dollars from the state's bottom line. A former state senator and Lakewood mayor pleads guilty in a public corruption case.

Reporters' Roundtable: July 30, 2009
The city of Akron announces layoffs and the Cleveland school district reveals its cost-cutting measures aren't succeeding, but new school construction continues. Meanwhile, three northeast Ohio companies are poised for expansion. We'll discuss those stories Thursday morning at 9, and as Cuyahoga County voters prepare to decide on whether to restructure county or simply study the issue more, we look back at the last major overhaul in the region – in Summit County in 1979.

Reporters' Roundtable: May 14, 2009
This week, the Plain Dealer has been hammering on the costs of government in Cuyahoga County. The implication is this: that Cuyahoga County residents may not be getting as much bang for their buck as other urban counties in Ohio. Thursday morning at 9 on the reporters' roundtable, we'll hear from the reporter behind the story about what she found and what may be coming in the investigation.

Reporters' Roundtable: Mar. 26, 2009
Cuyahoga County Sheriff Gerald McFaul resigns. Also, dire statistics continued to pile up this week: statewide unemployment figures topped nine percent, home values are down by a third in Summit County, retail vacancy rates hit double digits... On our reporters' roundtable, we'll talk about those and other stories about the economy's toll on our region.
