The Cleveland law firm Thompson Hine has named a new partner-in-charge of its New York office.

Katherine D. Brandt took over from George J. Walsh III at the beginning of the month. Mr. Walsh, who served in the role beginning in 2002, will focus on his real estate practice.

Ms. Brandt is the third woman to become partner-in-charge of a Thompson Hine office. April Miller Boise has been partner-in-charge of the Cleveland office since last year and Patricia Mann Smitson has held the role in Cincinnati since 2001.

Ms. Brandt led the firm's commercial and public finance group for the past 12 years. She is a member of the Case Western Reserve University School of Law Dean's Advisory Council and a past member of the board of directors of the American Red Cross of Greater Cleveland. Her law degree is from CWRU.
