Cleveland-based Osborn Engineering Co. has expanded its geographic footprint to Columbus with the acquisition of The Wulk Engineering Group Inc.

Wulk focuses on technology design and engineering and provides integrated solutions for complex data and telephone communications for multiple industries. Osborn did not disclose terms for acquiring the three-person Wulk firm.

Gene Baxendale, president of Osborn, said in a news release that the acquisition is strategic because modern buildings require specialized expertise to handle technology issues. He said Wulk and Osborn have worked together for years.

Bringing the firm in-house will allow Osborn to plan for technological issues at the earliest stages of conceiving a project, Mr. Baxendale said.
