The mission of Coleman Adult Day Service is to provide a structured, comprehensive, non-residential care service to impaired adults through individualized assessment and plans of care.
Coleman Adult Day Service is dedicated to preserving the dignity of older adults with emphasis on those with developmental, physical or cognitive challenges.
Recipients of Coleman Adult Day Services and those who benefit from the program are older adults with mild to severe disabilities or cognitive impairment. The majority of whom need assistance or are unable to perform self-care in the areas of toileting, transferring, eating and bathing. Participants include those with a single or multiple medical conditions, mental retardation, developmental disabilities, dementia and Alzheimer Disease.
Our program is beneficial because it offers more assistance than a senior center, without the financial obligation of a full-time residential facility.
Coleman Adult Day Services also serves Portage County working caregivers, elderly caregivers, and caregivers in poor health by allowing them to take care of personal work or other family and household demands.
Coleman Adult Day Services is a program of Coleman Professional Services, a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs that improve the lives of individuals, families and businesses in Northeast Ohio. The company relies on an enterprise business model to diversify its funding. Coleman's foundation and three enterprise companies produce more than 25 percent of the company's funding for its award-winning programs.

Koinonia Homes, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides residential and vocational services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio. We are the largest provider of IDD services in the county, serving over 260 individuals and employing 450 staff members. Our mission is partnering with people who have developmental disabilities to achieve healthy, fulfilling, enriched lives.
Koinonia Enterprises, a new 16,000 square-foot Adult Day Support and Vocational Services Center, features a multi-therapy room, horticulture room, computer room, game room and more. The center is open Monday through Friday, with programs offered between 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Extended hours may be arranged on an individual basis. By taking into account each participant’s interests and needs, a variety of activities are planned on a daily basis, including art therapy, a book club, community outings, culinary activities, exercise, gardening, music therapy, reality orientation, sensory stimulation, yoga and more! Transportation to and from the center is provided.
Koinonia's job readiness and vocational training program prepares individuals for real work within our community. On-going training and support is provided to develop customer service, financial and other skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment. Services provided by our individuals to local businesses are designed to identify and match a company's employment needs.
Koinonia’s residential services include ICF/MR facilities, licensed group homes, supported living and foster care throughout Cuyahoga County.
